POS Integration
LaneHawk can be integrated with almost any POS system that has Ethernet capabilities.
When LaneHawk identifies an item or items on the bottom of the shopping cart, it sends the
corresponding UPC information to the POS via an Ethernet connection. The final interface and processing
requirements for the information can be determined by each store depending on POS capabilities and store procedures currently in place.
Below is an interface example on an IBM 46XX system that identifies BOB items and locks out the 'Total' button until they have been processed.

When a BOB item is identified, the "Total" key is mapped over by a "Process BOB Items" key. This prevents the transaction from being completed until the BOB item has been acknowledged. Regular bar code scanning can continue even when BOB items are identified.

After the Process BOB Items key has been pressed, a BOB Item screen displays the UPC, description and quantity of LaneHawk-recognized items.

Once the items are confirmed by the cashier, they are automatically included in the transaction and the cashier can then total the sale.
This example illustrates one possible integration of the LaneHawk system in a graphical user interface POS system. However, by utilizing Ethernet
communication standards, LaneHawk can easily be integrated into a variety of POS systems, such as 50-key entry and text-based video displays. LaneHawk integrates
with all major POS providers. Evolution Robotics Retail can assist with the system
integration, or work closely with your preferred POS solution provider.
