Alec Hudnut is Chief Executive Officer of Evolution Robotics Retail.
For the past two years, Alec was CEO of Evolution Robotics, Inc., the parent company of Evolution Robotics Retail.
Before joining Evolution Robotics, Alec was a Managing Director at Idealab, where he launched and supported a
number of the organization's operating companies. Alec brings business, consulting and corporate
finance experience from previous roles as CEO and co-founder of educational software company Quisic,
as a consultant at McKinsey & Co., and as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs & Co. Alec holds an
MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
where he was a Morehead Scholar. Alec enjoys pick-up basketball games and playing soccer. All
potential applicants who can improve the quality of the company soccer team are encouraged to apply.

Mark Belfiglio is Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mark has over 18 years of sales, marketing and management experience in the retail technology industry. Mark was most recently Vice President of Sales, Retail for Wincor Nixdorf USA. Prior to this, Mark was Vice President of the eastern region for TIBCO Software, where he was named Vice President of the year in 2003. In addition, Mark was Division Vice President and General Manager for Symbol Technologies. eastern division, managing an organization with greater than $400M in revenue and more than 130 professionals that worked with many of the industry.s best known tier one retailers. Mark also spent 10 years at NCR where he assumed positions of increasing responsibility including Executive Major Account Manager and Director of Enterprise Sales Consulting. Mark holds a B.S. degree in Business Management from The Pennsylvania State University. Mark enjoys spending time with his family, helping coach his son's sports teams, and offshore fishing.

Dr. Jim Ostrowski is Vice President of Product Development.
Jim's field of expertise includes mobile robotics, nonlinear dynamics,
and vision-based control. Jim is from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a tenured Professor in the
Department of Mechanical Engineering and a member of the General Robotics, Sensing, Automation and Perception
(GRASP) Laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and
he is a former Associate Editor for the journal IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation. Jim organizes
a weekly lunch outing to explore restaurants in the Pasadena area. He likes playing pretty much any team sport
(though soccer most of all) and hanging out with his family. He also still dreams of being an astronaut when he grows up.

Richard Rands is Vice President of Operations. Rich has over thirty
years experience in the retail Point of Sale area.
Prior to joining Evolution Robotics Retail, he was a Vice President of PlanetU/Coolsavings, a rewards firm that
integrated web input from customers into automatic rewards at specific grocery chains. Before
that he founded a software firm, Retail Innovations, which specialized in creation, maintenance
and support of grocery point of sale. He also has twenty years of experience with IBM in project
management, support and marketing of POS systems. One of his passions is restoring old cars,
particularly his 1964 Jaguar and 1968 Camaro convertible.

Dr. Luis Goncalves is Vice President of Research and Development and develops technology for object recognition and machine-human interaction.
His research interests are in computer vision and machine learning, especially as applied to visual pattern recognition. He
received a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada in 1991. In 1992, he received an M.S. in
Electrical Engineering, and in 2000 a Ph. D. degree in Computation and Neural Systems, both from the California Institute of
Technology, Pasadena. Luis enjoys painting and mountain biking, and is a Kung-Foos Master-in-training.
